Using and setting up your student e-mail account for mobile devices and other clients, and all you need to know about your student e-mail at OsloMet.

Read and send e-mail

Login to your webmail Outlook.com/hioa.no.

Setup of av Exchange e-mail client

Office 365 is the e-mail server and system for students at OsloMet (HiOA).

You can setup your e-mail with Exchange and retrieve your e-mails on any email client.

E-mail for for iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Exchange

  2. Add your e-mail address/account: e.g. s123456@oslomet.no, and your OsloMet password.

  3. Accept the defaults on the Exchange server settings. Continue the log in with Feide.

  4. Finish the setup by giving the account a name/description.

E-mail for Android

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account > E-mail > Exchange

  2. Add your e-mail address/account: e.g. s123456@oslomet.no, and your OsloMet password.

  3. Accept the defaults on the Exchange server settings.

  4. Finish the setup by giving the account a name/description.

If setup fails

If setup fails, you can manually add these settings:

  • Username (e-mail account): username@oslomet.no, e.g. s123456@oslomet.no
  • Domain: (leave empty)
  • Password: OsloMet password
  • Exchange server: outlook.office365.com

E-mail for other clients with IMAP

You can setup your e-mail with IMAP and retrieve your e-mails on any e-mail client, e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird or macOS X Mail.

Username and password for your e-mail account

  • Your e-mail account is: username@oslomet.no, e.g. s123456@oslomet.no.

  • Password: OsloMet password

Completing your studies

Remember to download your documents and files from your Office 365 student account at OsloMet in within 90 days after completing your studies. Your student account includes cloud services like Outlook, Office Online and OneDrive.
